VIA 6793 Disposition: Grand Canyon 6793

Grand Canyon FPA4 6793 has had a rather checkered career. First off, it was the last FA of any type to be built in North America, and it was delivered to the Canadian National as the 6793 in May 1959. Its tour of duty with second-owner VIA Rail lasted from 1977 to 1990. In 1993, it donned a Missouri Pacific-inspired dress and became Potomac Eagle 6793. The loco's fourth and current employer is the GCRY, where it has been since 2002 routinely hauling sightseers to the Canyon's south rim. The 6793, along with FPB4 6860, are seen in this Vic Lines photo at the canyon station on 14 May 2009.
